The Pony Group is composed of the oldest students at Desert Dawn Private School. They range from prekindergarten to kindergarten age. Many of these children have been in school for one to two years. They are familiar with the classroom setting and ready to focus on the learning process. The children work in whole group, small group, and individual settings. In the whole group format they listen to and discuss selected children's literature, work on daily news, and participate in music class. Small group activities include hands on math class and science, sharing journals, and art class. On an individual basis the students work with teachers to sound out keyworkds, read books, and check them out to take home to read with family and friends. The children have a busy scheduled day that includes both classroom and outdoor learning activities.

Our Bunny Room is for toddler’s age 18 months to 3 years old, The Goat Room is for children 3 and 4, and the Pony Room is for children 4 – 6 years old and includes our Kindergarten.
