Everyone likes a party and young children are no exception. In fact, they love parties! At Desert Dawn we use celebrations to learn about cultural activities that are practiced in our own community and by other children of the world. Our parties bring the children and families of Desert Dawn closer together as a group. We encourage participation from parents, grandparents, and caregivers to help make these events successful. Parties are held in the mornings and generally last about two hours, depending upon the holiday. They are rich in fun activities for everyone. Often there is a professional involved to entertain the children, such as a face painter, balloon artist, silhouette artist, or pony ride provider. Noncompetitive games are played that correspond to the event as welll as traditional favorites, like the fishing game where children fish for prizes. There are special crafts of the season, such as egg dying or pumpkin carving. Parties at Desert Dawn are such fun occasions that both children and parents do not forget them.
