The children of the Goat Group are the middle age range for Desert Dawn students. They are primarily three and four year olds who are ready for a classroom setting and schedule. Whole group activitites tend to be short and age level appropriate. Stories are heard and acted out by the children. Many of them include sound and movement exercises to create greater involvement. Special holidays and celebrations are often worked into the learning theme. Music, Star of the Week, story time, and calendar are regular programs that establish a sense of order. Small group activities include letter of the week, journals, hands on math, arts and crafts, and fun beginning level science projects. The children work one on one with a teacher to sound out words and read books for check out. They make many special books and projects that celebrate their individualities. Outdoor activities include ball games, play yard, and gardening.

Our Bunny Room is for toddler’s age 18 months to 3 years old, The Goat Room is for children 3 and 4, and the Pony Room is for children 4 – 6 years old and includes our Kindergarten.
